A Special Occasion

We were delighted recently to be able to host a very special birthday party for our long-term customer and friend Alice.  A good time was had by all attending and we send our best wishes to Alice for the future.

Castle Community Choir 

Come and join us on a Monday evening from 7.30 to 9.00 to sing and have fun!  
No auditions needed and it's free - what more incentive do you need?!

Success at Music festival!
The Choir entered the Bedfordshire Festival of Music, Speech and Drama 2015 and gained a Merit in the Community Choirs section.

Cream and Afternoon Teas 

Our special teas are proving so popular we are continuing them throughout the winter.  Join us for a Cream Tea (Tues-Fri 3-5) or an Afternoon Tea (Tues-Weds 3-5).  Other days may be available on request.   Booking for Afternoon Teas is essential.  Please check the Menu page for  other details of booking requirements.

Bedford Foodbank 
We are pleased to be able to provide a collection point for the Bedford Foodbank.  2014 saw an unprecedented rise in the use of Foodbanks and the Organisation is always pleased to receive contributions. If you have food that you wish to donate, please leave it in the container in our lobby area.  We have leaflets available explaining more about Bedford foodbank and describing several other ways in which you can offer your support.

We always have supplies available of the current issue of UCB Word for Today - a free quarterly publication offering thoughts for each day.  If you cannot find one, please ask a member of staff for assistance.  [see Links page for further information about the work of UCB]    Back to top

Duke of Edinburgh Award 

We have often had folk in the past volunteering at the Jaffa, for their 'Service to the Community' section of the DoE Award'  We have one or two volunteering slots available on a Saturday at the moment and would be happy to hear from you should you wish to take up this opportunity.  Pop in and see Jenny or e-mail her.    Back to top
